Skwachàys listed number two on list of best hotels in Vancouver.
The Skwachààys LodgeVancouver’s newest boutique hotel is in the city’s gentrifying downtown east side. Theconverted Victorian six-storey building’s totem pole acts as a new neighbourhood beacon, andits 18 rooms have been created by designers and First Nations artists. The “moon suite”, forexample, is in elegant lunar whites and beiges, and features a circular bed framed by arounded ceiling light with a gold-leaf raven. Part social enterprise, part cultural tourisminitiative, part design hotel, ithas filled its lobby with contemporary and traditional indigenousart, while the first four floors have artists’ studios.
